QR Safety in 60 Seconds

You scanned a QR code. Pause before you trust what opens next.

Before you continue

  1. Check the destination URL for misspellings or random domains.
  2. Do not sign in from scanned links unless you independently trust the destination.
  3. Do not pay through a QR page if an official app or known site exists.
  4. If a page feels urgent, stop and verify through a separate channel.

If you already entered details

  • Change exposed passwords from official sites
  • Contact your bank if payment details were entered
  • Monitor account alerts for unusual activity

Remember: One red flag is enough to pause.

Print tip: browser print settings → background graphics on, margins default.
